I feel like running a flag up a verrrry tall pole just to let Ma Nature know we're down here. Rain to the north, rain to the south. Blech. There are trees down here EVERYWHERE. In our yard alone, we've lost 4 trees. Kinda scares me with the high wind. And, of course, this is the first year I've had any number of peppers on it. I have usually had poor luck with bell peppers- big plants but few peppers. This year, I've finally got peppers.Judy Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01121300109427407095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1412316033303635508.post-30438044386343828712012-09-05T22:13:49.107-05:002012-09-05T22:13:49.107-05:00We only lost a few small branches but there were b...We only lost a few small branches but there were big branches down in town (I saw one probably 8 inches in diameter down) But then I wonder how much the trees have been weakened by the drought.<br />As for produce, I picked up lots of little green paste tomatoes that seem to have blown off and I froze 2 quarts of diced peppers this evening. Otherwise not too bad. The downed tomatoes will stay down- I'd probably do more damage trying to pull them back up.Judy Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01121300109427407095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1412316033303635508.post-63379399278396652052012-09-05T21:16:54.706-05:002012-09-05T21:16:54.706-05:00Sounds like some of our "dry storms" :(Sounds like some of our "dry storms" :(Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00576053785355324560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1412316033303635508.post-24388107151822633162012-09-05T20:47:43.908-05:002012-09-05T20:47:43.908-05:00We haven't had any wind or rain but some of my...We haven't had any wind or rain but some of my pepper plants have branches breaking off - probably due to the weight of the peppers. Guess you can keep your rain - we would have enjoyed it here but like what happened to you, we would suffer losses if we got too much wind. Do we REALLY need it?
