I am chuckling to myself. Many years ago, a ...Oh... I am chuckling to myself. Many years ago, a friend of mine was having twins, and I thought this would be a great excuse to learn how to quilt. I wasn't gonna do anything fancy, just fairly big squares... but baby blankets are small... how hard could it be?<br /><br />Soooo, I bought the fabric, cut out a bunch of squares, started sewing them together and promptly got completely overwhelmed! Finally in desperation I called a friend who actually is a quilter (but hates to cook) and we made a deal. She knocked out 2 quilts in an evening, and I made her a bunch of meals to stick in her freezer. Everybody was happy, and I still have all the squares in a bag in my basement. That may just work. And I always machine quilt baby quilts so they will stand up to being thrown into the wash regularly. I also try to put on a fairly dark backing since I liked to throw down quilts on the floor for play mats.
