Then to make sure that they aren't full to the top.<br /><br />Then people would come in and bitch about how there were too many bags... Or too little... Or too heavy... Or too light... Or... Well, let's just say that no matter what you do, someone is going to be calling you an idiot and getting upset with you.<br /><br />I'm glad I don't do those types of jobs anymore and that I don't have to deal with all the idiot customers. I also now clearly spell out what I expect when I go through the cashier line...
