2013 word of the year

I've been pondering my goals for the year.  I've managed to boil it all down to one word:

CHALLENGE

This is the year I hope to really challenge myself.
First, this is the year that Justine and I will do Run for Your Lives- the 5K obstacle course complete with zombies- so it will be a challenge for me to get into good enough shape to be successful at this.
Then, I've got the challenge to complete a number of items in time for a March photo shoot and for an April launch of my new business.  I'll be spending quite a bit of quality time with my sewing machine in the next few months.
There is always the challenge of maintaining the garden, made more complicated this year by trying to find a new balance between gardening, sewing, training for a 5K and all the rest of the things I do.  I feel that will be the major challenge of the year... finding balance.  I will need to learn to be much more cautious with how I spend my time.  But I do realize that I also need to have some down-time in there, as well as family time (which I will not give up!).

So, 2013 will be an interesting year.  I hope I'm up to it. I'll be relying on all of you to keep me in line and on track.

I don't know if you remember, but I started a private log for a few of us that wanted to document our weight loss / exercising more challenges. Let me know if you'd like to join us, I'm sure we'd all LOVE to see how you're training for the Zombie Run!!

    1. Well, not really a marathon- only a 5K. I do remember your private blog, I'll have to look that up again.

    1. That's one of the things I love about this online community- we're all out here, cheering on the successes and commiserating with the failures- all without 'really' knowing each other.

  5. You are amazing. Do you get extra energy from your drinking water? How you manage to take on and accomplish all you do while working a full-time job away from home is a mystery. My hat is off to you, Wonder Woman that you are!

    1. No, no Wonder Woman here. I still don't fit into my bustier. Need to lose some more weight first!

  6. Great word. It sounds like you're really going to challenge yourself, too. My word this year is Deliberate--to actually deliberate and think about what I'm doing and then to do it deliberately, with thought and purpose.

    Here's to a good 2013.
