Rain, Rain, Go Away
Oh my. I wish it would stop raining. Yesterday afternoon, I dumped 3 inches of rain from the gauge. This morning, another 1.75 inches when I took the dog out. And it's still raining. They're predicting up to another inch today and yet another overnight. We've got water trickling in the basement again (sigh) and I don't know when I'm going to be able to wade into the garden to pick tomatoes. I ran out last night briefly to get some peppers for a friend and there is standing water in the barnyard not far from the garden. On my way to the bus stop this morning, I spied creeks out of banks, haybales sitting in over a foot of water and fields of soybeans nearly underwater. Eesh, I could definitely stand a bit of sunshine and clear weather.

I feel for you, we have gotten 14 inches in one month here, very strange. And when the sun does come out, it is so hazy and humid it's miserable! Now we have Tropical Storm Danny coming Sat morning, of course when we are having out of town guests so the yard will look dreadful, lol!

ReplyDeleteLatest rain update- It's 10:30 pm and the rain has finally stopped- we hope. Grand total for this event. 6.3 inches in about 40 hours. There is water coming in the basement from places that have NEVER leaked before. (sigh)

Oh my goodness, 6.3 inches in less than 2 days. I hope this is all and you get a break now. This summer has been crazy weather-wise.

P.S Sorry to hear about the leaky basement after all your hard work weatherproofing it. :(
