February 12 for 12

I'm still working on life changes using the twelve for twelve idea.  Back at the beginning of the year I chose 12 verbs that I want to incorporate into my life to help make positive changes and I promised to check in monthly to see how I'm doing.  Since it is the end of the month (Happy Leap Day!!) I thought I'd  do an update, so here goes.
Create- I've been doing some work on my quilt but have been distracted by other things recently. I have been able to do some creating in the kitchen.
Dream- LOTS of dreaming going on.  Dreaming of gardening, quilting, other sewing projects... spring!
Organize- Um.. I've never been the most organized person.  But, I did work on organizing my seed starting stuff, I've been sorting through my CEU stuff for licensing and doing some recipe organizing.
Love- Have been able to spend time with the family.  Our Friday or Saturday night movie nights are good ways to connect.
Complete- finished 4 CEU courses this month. Woo Hoo!
Play- I've been having fun watching some TV- I know- it isn't really play.  But I rarely watch TV so it's been fun to watch a few shows every now and then.
Nourish- good food has been abounding here.  I've been having a grand time with my sourdough starter creating wonderful foods.
Nurture- Little first seedlings are started and I'm loving tending them.
Budget- I've been trying to be much more conscious about purchases.  Looking ahead at sending J17 to college in the fall will require a bit of adjusting the budgeting.
Learn- completing CEUs.
Move- I've been working out fairly regularly.  Gotta get fit to survive the zombie apocalypse.
Plan/Prepare- getting fit, ordered beef from Mr H, stocked up on dried fruit at the Amish grocery (Stringtown).  Working on garden planning to help feed ourselves.

So, I've been busy.  Not as much accomplished as I would have liked, especially in the create category- but I've been trying to finish all my continuing education.  I have to have finished no later than May so I can have my license renewed before my birthday in June when it expires.

  1. Oh, Judy - you just don't realize how organized you are. To accomplish all that you do, you can't help but have some good organizational skills. How about adding "share", which you do with all of us - and we are thankful that you do!

    1. Maybe it's just that I don't FEEL very organized. I always seem to be pulled in multiple directions and I often don't feel that I get anything really finished.

    1. Sleep? Is that something I should know about?

Actually, I try to get a good 6-7 hours a night but I have NEVER slept well. Well, except when I was on drugs to sleep- and even then, if I had enough to keep me asleep all night I was so hungover in the morning that it wasn't worth it. The best I ever got was being able to fall back asleep after I wake. Still- I probably average an "actual" maybe 6 hours a night- on a good night. And I have that trouble that I wake up early and am ready to go- even on weekends. Sleeping until 730 or 8 is truly sleeping in- even if I haven't gone to bed until midnight or later. sigh... I do wish I could sleep more.

  6. It's funny that you don't think you're organized! My word, it's amazing to see what you accomplish in any give day!

    1. Like I said to 2 tramps- I don't feel organized. And my house is a mess and I've got baskets full of un-put-away laundry and multiple half finished projects.....

  7. You seem pretty busy to me. And, you gotta watch TV sometime to just completely be mindless and relax! I liked that the seedlings are coming up. Somehow it brings you closer to spring! Your doing great on 12 for 12!! ...debbie

    1. The thing is- I KNOW that TV is a huge time suck. I already spend too much time on the computer so I don't need another media taking up my time. I figure if I limit my time I can still let myself watch some TV. It's just that usually, there isn't anything I'm even remotely interested in watching. I mean, we've got 100+ channels and still nothing worth watching.

  8. Oh zombies!

And you make me look like a slug.

Great list, you should be proud of your accomplishments so far this year. It has only been a few months..

    1. I don't think I make you look like a slug at all- You definitely don't have antennae! And are infinitely LESS slimy. Oh you who has done multiple races and such.

  10. This post makes my head hurt... you are amazing with all these great plans and actions you have taken... I NEED A PLAN! I'm definitely starting with the zombie thing though, I have over 6 months food storage now so I'm starting on the fitness too so I can outrun them!

    1. THAT'S what I'm talking about- I've got the storage- I've got the skills- but I wouldn't be able to outrun them! I wouldn't survive long enough to be an asset!
Honestly- I've fallen off the wagon a bit with the exercise this week because I've been so busy. I NEED to get going again.
