Gardening for the masses

Hooray!  The Obama's have announced that they will plant a garden on the White House lawn.  It's going to be a raised bed, organic garden.  It seems that they are touting the benefits of fresh, local food, especially for children.  But then, we all already knew about that, didn't we.

    I saw an interview on the CBS Sunday Morning Show with the lady that was pushing for the Obama's to plant a garden on their lawn. I'm glad to see that she got through to them. I think it is a wonderful idea.

    When I saw that this morning on the news, I even choked up a little ('cause I'm silly that way) because they actually DID it. It was just a tiny glimmer of hope, but it was there.

    This was one issue I voted for on Change.org when they prepared the top ten issues to Obama at some meeting. i don't see why the White House shouldn't have it's own vegetable garden! Much more useful than a rose garden, if you ask me!
