Roger recorded part of Justine's recital on Saturday. My camera battery was low and wasn't letting me shoot video so I'm glad we got part of this. I thought I'd share:
Yes, it is the song made famous by Ken Burns. It actually originally had nothing to do with the Civil War. It is called "Ashokan Farewell". Of course, the up-tempo version was an adaptation.
Justine looked very comfortable playing . . . wish I had musical talent like that. "Ashokan Farewell" is one of my very favorite pieces of music and the up-tempo version was delightful. I, too, thought your "puppy" looked like her bodyguard!
Yes, I suppose he was there to keep the masses from mobbing the 'stage' at the end of the concert. Of course, they may need a towel to wipe off the slobber but he's not much of a threat otherwise... but his sheer size intimidates people.
GOOD JOB JUSTINE AND IS THAT HER BODY GUARD IN FRONT OF HER?
ReplyDeleteLOL! That is our tiny puppy! He seemed to think that the serenade was just for him.
DeleteWhen I hear that song I think of Ken Burns and documentaries. What is the name of that song?
