I was thinking about a 2013 "Year in review" but I don't really have that much to report. The garden was "meh" this year, the chickens were "meh" except for the addition of 4 new ladies. Life was just kind of Meh! Except for the zombie run... that was awesome!
So farewell to 2013, the year of MEH. And welcome 2014!!! May it hold exciting challenges for us all.
Well... not too many challenges....
But, still
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Welcome 2014!!
Why were the chickens 'meh'?
ReplyDeleteThe chickens were "meh" for several reasons. Mainly that most of my hens are now over 2 years old and they aren't laying as reliably as they were. They supplied us well enough in the summer but barely enough to sell as I had done the year previously.
DeleteAnd the rooster is a jerk.
And, yes, I know I could cull them and get younger hens but I don't think the family would stand for that.
My one hen is "retired" now too. New chicks coming this spring :)
ReplyDeleteYour meh sure seemed to fit our summer garden here. lol Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, hope you are staying warm. Hugs
ReplyDeleteA new year is upon us and it's a good thing I don't write many checks anymore.. I usually mark 10 checks in advance with the new year ..but since I hardly use checks anymore I didn't have to do that this year.. Yeah~!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2014~!~! Joy is going to be living in my year this year...~! ta ta for now from Iowa:)
