We had a fabulously clear night last night. Even though the moon isn't quite full it was giving a spectacular display. I was playing with the zoom on my camera and thought I'd share.
As the sun was setting, the moon took on a slightly orange sheen.
As it got darker, the sky took on a beautiful soft black color and the moon glowed.
Have I mentioned recently that I LOVE my new camera??
Pretty spectacular shots of the moon, I'd say!
ReplyDeleteIt was so clear. I was impressed at how much detail I could get.
DeleteAwesome! We were staring up at the moon last night, too. Glad you were able to capture some photos.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful night for moon gazing.
DeleteHa, that's a classic activity for a new camera! Cool shots-- glad you're having fun :)
ReplyDeleteGotta put it through it's paces!
DeleteBeautiful! Hubby got to do a moonlight kayak paddle to False Cape State Park the other night and I was so jealous I missed it! Next time I'm going even if I have to pack sleeping kids into the kayak!
ReplyDeleteOoo... a moonlight kayak sounds lovely. Hope you get to go. I can't imagine the kids would sleep through it.
DeleteNice shots! What kind of camera did you get?
ReplyDeleteWe just got a new Canon 60D and my husband got some good moon shots using a Canon EF 70-200 zoom lens.
My hubby got me a Canon PowerShot SX 40 HS a while ago when my old camera was on its way out. It isn't terribly fancy but it takes fabulous shots. The best moon shots were between 100 and 140x. I was amazed that they came out that clear since I wasn't using a tripod and at that zoom it is hard to keep it steady. Of course, it was propped up on the deck rail.
DeleteAnd thanks for stopping by! Welcome.
