Linda- LOL!! It will be OK!! It will be spring before you know it! We had such a pathetic growing season this year that I'm not sad to see it go. I'm hoping that now that we're done with major construction and with my reduced work hours I'll be able to focus more energy on the garden next year. Of course- there is ALWAYS next year! LOL!!!
Oh Dear!! Looking a little sad there! Well..like you said, it's time to be done with pulling weeds and worring about bugs eating your crops! You can take a little rest for the next 5 1/2 months!!...debbie
Judy I am already planning next years garden! I am a complete addict. Winter is hard on me for that reason. I cannot stand the withdrawal pain! LOL! I hope you have figured out what went wrong with your garden this year and that next year will be a real winner for you!
Believe it or not, we're still going in central WI, I think our lakes keep us a little warmer than the rest of the state. So some frost damage finally, but most things were okay. Of course there's no fruit left on most of the plants (peppers and eggplant) so I'm pulling stuff anyway.
Definitely looking forward to the slower pace of winter, here (and I'm really tired of off the tomatoes on my table!) but also excited to have the hoop this year for winter garden puttering :)
Debbie- HA! There's no rest here- only no gardening!! But I love it!! Linda- this year was a bad combination of horrid weather- too wet this spring and too hot and dry this summer- and no time due to construction. Remodeling and gardening don't mix well! s- I am incredibly jealous of your hoop! One of those is on my wish list- but not this year. I can't wait to see how it turns out for you. Actually our killing frost is right about on schedule. We usually get it mid to late October. Last year it was crazy-late. Judy
Yep, we had our first really hard frost night before last. My volunteer cherry tomatoes finally bit the dust. (Swallowed the frost?) This frost date was exceptionally late for us way up here in NE Minnesota. You just can't plan on when that old Jack Frost will make his appearance!
