In the really bad news- V got the "after a difficult decision, we have decided to go with a different candidate" letter today. (sigh) At least he still has his on-line job and now he'll continue to have time to work on the house.

Bad weather, Bad news
We had snow overnight. Not much this time- a little less than an inch. But this is the set up for the bigger storm that is coming. We've got a winter storm warning starting overnight through most of tomorrow and then a blizzard watch for Tuesday night/Wednesday. Woo Hoo. It looks like we'll get to try out the sledding hill! Of course, this was NOT a good time for V to inform me that he never got around to ordering the snow blade for the tractor. Oops! We'll have lots of shoveling to get out. We're predicted (at the moment) to get anywhere from 6 to 12+ inches with sustained winds of 25-35 mph and gusts up to 50. I just hope it holds out long enough for me to have my interview tomorrow. It's not scheduled until 3 pm and if the roads get too bad they will likely have to reschedule since several members of the interview committee have school age children and commute 20 or more miles.

Ach !! I feel it coming.
ReplyDeleteAm sorry that V didn't get the job. Seems like that is the norm these days. Hopefully another opportunity will pop up. Brien hasn't found anything to interview yet...not a good time of the year for jobs I guess. I can't believe your going to have such a big bad nasty storm!! I hope it's not as bad as they say, and I hope it hold off so you can have your interview. Get some firewood in and batton down the hatches!! soap the runners on the sleds and get the boots ready!! Ho ho ho ...Merry Christmas...debbie
ReplyDeleteWe are waiting for the snow too. Got our generator cranked up to make sure it is working....just in case.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the job, that is something that we are all too familiar with. My husband (who was previously never without a job during his entire adult life)had his job eliminated twice in the last two years leaving him unemployed for 6 months each time. He has a job now that pays about half of his former salary, BUT he really loves it and that is so important. Good luck, I know things will work out for you too.
Bummer, things have to turn around. Like I often say to my family and kids. It will all work out and it always does.
ReplyDeleteWe are so not looking forward to the snow. The road we live on blows shut really easy .... even without 8-12" of snow and gusts up to 50 mph!
ReplyDeleteSorry about V's job interview. But good luck tomorrow with yours.
Too bad about V's job.
ReplyDeleteThis is a huge storm! They have been calling for 8-14 inches up here too...I am skeptical!
Oh Judy, I'm sorry about the job.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope the snow holds off for you. We RACED home yesterday to beat it-it's supposed to pick up more moisture over Lake Michigan and they're saying 14+ inches. Sorry-I'm THRILLED. To me , that is the ultimate homecoming present-snowmobiling! Yea!
Hope all goes well for you guys.Take care!!
I am sorry to hear about V's job plans falling through. While it is a good thing that he will still have time to work on the house, I hope that at least you will be able to sell the other house so things will loosen up a bit for you. The snow will be a pain to deal with as far as getting around, it will be fun to go sledding and get into the holiday spirit with! Snow days and the family being together, the good stuff! Hope to see some pics of the snowload when you get a chance.
ReplyDeleteHI Judy...sorry to hear about V's job falling through. I hope that something else comes along soon. Hope your interview goes great. We are also awaiting the storm. Kind of exciting (if you can stay home & watch it out the window :-) Not looking forward to driving in it though. I am working on Steve to get a Subaru all wheel drive car for me instead of the Mini Cooper. Will feel a little safer in that. Drive safe & enjoy the sledding
ReplyDeleteJudy, I'm so sorry to hear the news about V. It is hard, no matter how one looks at it.
ReplyDeleteWe're on watch for a mess of "junk" from the sky overnight and into Wednesday - the kind of weather that can't decide if its going to be snow, sleet, hail, rain, or just slosh - so decides to be all of them. Sigh. Good thoughts for you and your family that you can get done what you want to.
Oh I am so sorry V did not get the job - what a bummer! Hope you don't get hit like they are predicting with this storm!!!!
ReplyDeleteKris
I'm sorry V didn't get the job. I'm almost envying you the snow, however. I love a good, dramatic storm. (Then again, the DH and I work in our little town, and he's "essential city services" so they always plow our street.)
ReplyDeleteYou must live close to me, we're getting the same blizzard warning. I'm in Northwest Illinois (Freeport)....
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about V not getting the job! Always hard. I am sure there will be something even better coming along in the future for him though. Keep warm there!
