First summer seedlings

The very first few seedlings of my main summer crops came up today.  I just planted them on Sunday so that's pretty quick.  Not all have started to show but the first ones up: Black Krim (heirloom), Jaune Flamme (heirloom), Crimson Cushion (heirloom) and super beefsteak (hybrid- mainly for the plant sale).  Nothing else up yet but I'm hoping to see some more tomorrow.
Work was brutal today and I'm still not recovered from the past week so I'm really tired.  And I work on Saturday so I still don't get a chance to sleep in. sigh...
But, the kitchen is just about put together so that's something positive.

  1. Hey, you changed your header!? I love the new colour, although I did love the big farmhouse/barn in the old one... I always meant to ask if it was your place! Was it?

  2. Wow, that is fast. I planted some heirloom tomatoes this week too. Tiny Tim, and Chocolate Cherry. I am trying to grow 20 different varieties of heirlooms this year. Yum.

  3. Yay for seedlings! Now that you have your tomatoes started, the cold wet spring might seem to go by more quickly!

  4. Isn't it great when those first seedlings show through. My sweet peas came up in six days on the kitchen windowsill.

  5. Ali- yes, the barn in the old header is ours. It isn't big, but it's ours. That photo was taken after our blizzard in February. I wanted something a bit more 'springy'

  6. I am feeling guilty that I did not plant more heirlooms this year, I really want to focus more on seed saving from year to year. Those first sprouts are so exciting, it is the little things in life...
