But, back to photos...
Chickweed- the official first flower of the year.
The hostas are coming up- barely
As is the comfrey. I obviously haven't cleared that bed off yet.
I don't think the strawberries ever died back last year. They seem happy to have their mulch off.
The chickens wonder what I'm up to...
The lilac buds are swelling.
Spaz leads such a rough life... poor thing... so miserable!
And finally....
THIS is what happens when your husband helps package meat for the freezer!
No "5 pork loin chops" here. I guess he was bored with my labeling....
LOL...great pictures. Love the meat wrap label..
ReplyDeleteDo you ever eat chickweed? It makes a great tea and the greens are really good in salad too. I eat it all the time.
Poor Spaz...
My peach trees are swelling as well--I really noticed them today...spring is really coming...
I have eaten chickweed. It's pretty tasty in salads but I've never had the tea. Maybe something new to try.
DeleteWOW! Sorry to hear that you have been without running water. We have had that happen too many times. It is awful. And it always happens when I have a pile of dishes or when I REALLY want to take a shower. :(
ReplyDeleteIt is nice that your flowers are starting to come out. We don't have any out here yet. We still have snow on the ground. But the days have been kinda nice.
Poor Spaz :( Give the poor dear and pat and a hug for me. Life is tough. :)
And you changed your pic up top. Yum, love it. You should see my recent post. I was craving something..... lol

Have a great Monday. Take care, Janet W
At least we knew we would be without water for a while- just not that long- so we all took showers beforehand and made sure we started out with no dirty dishes.
DeleteLove the label! :)
ReplyDeleteHoping the water situation is fixed soon.
Water was back on after 36 hours so not much longer after I posted.
DeleteYeah, V is a pretty creative guy with a fun sense of humor.
Don't you know those chickens want out to eat all your little green things?? My chickens go insane when they see me coming back from the garden. And I find it amusing that they love the chickweed we pull up :)Stevie@ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com
ReplyDeleteOh yes, they want all those new little green shoots out there. It's kind of nice to have an outlet for the weeds I pull... but I may just eat that chickweed....
DeleteI'm just getting caught up and wow!- no water, ugh! That to me is hands down the worst thing to deal with. Gosh my hosts won't be up for another month, you really are having an interesting winter!
ReplyDeleteI noticed that my peonies are popping up as well. It's MARCH!!!
DeleteAh, we've been having the kind of weekend where nothing goes right the first time. Little stuff like missing parts, I ordered the wrong model of something, lots of extra trips, etc. And at some point today I said "well, at least the water's on!" So a little commiseration here, hopefully this lack of mo-jo or whatever it is going on, will be over soon!
ReplyDeleteUgh. I hope your problems get solved as well. We only needed two trips to the hardware store for the 'oops' stuff. Not too bad!
DeleteHope the water issues are solved soon. I love the meat package label.
ReplyDeleteAll is well.. I'll have to post some of V's other works of freezer art as we use them.
