There, at the end of the island!!
V was a busy boy today and was working on the kitchen island. He built my bookshelf!!! So, on one side of the stove is a 4 drawer base cabinet and on the other is a built in bookshelf for my cookbooks- well, at least some of them. I have waaaay to many to fit on these shelves. Behind the stove will be a breakfast counter and we have chosen a lovely polished granite countertop for it. Someday it will be finished.....
Of course, the box of cookbooks V chose to unpack was full of the ones I probably use the least- but I'd never tell him that. I just think it's so sweet that he built it for me.
Very nice, your DH is a talented guy! I'll keep that idea in my head for 'future home'. Thanks for the potatoe curing advice!

That is really nice! V is very skilled..
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, you're lucky to have such a talented hubby. You're like me....I wait till Don isn't around to "undo" some of his good deeds and re-do them my way. I just appreciate all the nice things he does do for me.
ReplyDeleteKuddos to your hubby for building you such a fine book shelf and drawers! Bob would tell me to go and find what I wanted. He is not skilled in woodworking but...he is skilled in many other ways! :) ...debbie
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDeleteCarnival Towel Creations? On second thought, I should get that. I bet Little Abbey would love it!
ReplyDeleteOk, in my defense- the Carnival towel creations was a gift from my in-laws after they went on a cruise. It is kind of fun though....
ReplyDeleteHow it got stuck in with the cookbooks I'll never know.
Judy
I agree with the others, V is a talented guy. Having a 4 sided shelf is a great idea.
