Today's harvest
Still going... and finally two little bell peppers!
I see some sauce in the future- tomato, eggplant, pepper and basil. Mmm
Spaz, the mighty hunter.
He caught another mouse in the house this week. That brings our total to three in the past few weeks. Hmm, I wonder how they're getting in....
That's impressive! I just pulled some bean plants that didn't like the cold at night, they were mushy! With the beans gone the summer garden is officially "done"! Except the peanuts, darn - just remembered I need to harvest those!
ReplyDeleteWe pulled everything out today and put our garden to bed for the winter and I also got alot of green tomatoes and peppers..the weird thing I have more tomatoes than I did the whole summer and they are turning red on the breakfast nook and they are so good..I think I picked close to 25 green tomatoes today..they aren't real big but they will be just as good... The weather has been wonderful for Iowa...Have a great Sunday...Lisa
ReplyDeleteWe just had our LAST tomato from the stash in our laundry room yesterday. What a sad sad moment!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you'll be having at least a bit more--lucky!!
:)
What a great harvest you are still getting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mouser you've got there!! Those darn mice can squeeze in the smallest holes. I don't think they have a skeleton...lol Are those stripped egg plant? they are beautiful what ever they are!! ...debbie
ReplyDeleteDebbie- yes, those are striped eggplants. I tried them for the first time last year. They are smaller than the big purple globe eggplant which is nice since J16 and I are the only ones who really LIKE eggplant. They are a nice size for stuffing or two people. I've noticed that they don't seem to have as many seeds as the big ones my Mom grows. She even commented that she liked mine when I took her a few (before hers were producing).
ReplyDeleteThe variety is India Paint and I originally got the seeds from Cook's Garden.
